WINE - fuchsia berries can be made into wine, have you a recipe?
WOODLICE - friends and foes. They feed on decaying matter which assists in the breakdown of the material. Woodlice are blamed for lots of damage but really they are opportunists and take up residence where other have initiated the damage. If you have an untidy greenhouse with resident woodlice and you have some seedlings, do not clean out all the debris, as you will take away what the woodlice like best and only leave them one food source. Youve guessed it your seedlings. Yours, No.1 member of the "Woodlouse Protection League".IMHO-DJL
WORMS - friends and foes. Great aid in the garden by dragging down leaves and other organic matter thereby increasing the humus content, but the same action is frowned on when the same activity is carried out on fine lawns and bowling greens. The worm leaves behind worm casts which are superb areas for germinating weed seeds besides that look unsightly. Worms are not welcome in flower pots because their tunnelling allows too much free drainage.
