location.gif (1777 bytes)The Bournemouth & Poole Fuchsia Society is a locally run club for enthusiasts interested in growing and showing Fuchsias who live in and around the south coast town of Bournemouth in the UK.  The society is affiliated to the British Fuchsia Society, and many of the members show at BFS shows across the country as well as well as judge at national and local shows.

Our monthly meetings are held at Kinson Comunity Centre, on the second Thursday of each month at 7.30 pm. Visitors are always welcome at our events, for a nominal charge.  Most months a guest speaker gives us a talk (often with slides) on some aspect of Fuchsia cultivation, such as propagation of hardy plants, species, training of plants, showing, pests, diseases etc.

During the last full weekend in July each year we hold our annual show at Kinson Community Centre, where all are welcome. There are many classes allowing you, if you so wish to compete against other members with similar interests and abilities, whether you are beginner or experienced showman.

Year BookOur full schedule is featured in our Year Book, which also includes a number of usefull and amusing articles on Fuchsias.  This can be purchased at the monthly meetings and at the various events organised through the year.

The colour covered Year Book is in limited supply, and may not be available.  However, B/W covered books will be available at meetings and shows in 2002.

Other events such as BBQ's, skittles evenings, weekend coach visits to Fuchsia nurseries and shows and afternoon visits to other members' gardens are also arranged throughout the year.

If you would like further details please email us or come along to one of the monthly meetings
